For this blog I have chosen a quote that represents and reflects the relationship that the two main characters, Lily and Rosaleen have.
The quote i have chosen is, "The greatest gift of life is friendship, and i have received it." by Hubert. H. Humphrey This quote to me reveals a lot about how friendship is valued. Friendship is actually an amazing gift of life. Friendship is the bond that you, and others have. In my story, friendship is not being revealed directly, but indirectly we see the friendship and motherly bond between Lily and Rosaleen.. The relationship that Lily, and Rosaleen share to me is, not a mother daughter relationship, but is one founded on friendshipg. Lily looks up to Rosaleen as a guide, mentor and as a friend who is always there for and can catch her when she falls. In the first few chapters we see Rosaleen is very comforting toward her, and later we see that they both try to escape their home together. I feel that being that Lily, doesn't have a mother, Rosaleen became a mother- like figure, as well as a friend. Therefore, I relate the relationship between two of the main characters with this quote.
